Entry for IEEE Antenna and propagation society student competition
Role: videographer, biotech expert
The assigment for 2015's student competition was to build an antenna that works on biological tissue. I was part of the team to figure out how exactly to measure breath, and to create a video of our project.
We built used a resistive band to measure the change in circumference of the wearer's chest.
Our Team Aalto came third in the international competition hosted by IEEE's antennas and propagation society (AP-S) with our breath monitoring device. The competition had 27 highly competitive entries from 14 countries around the world. The solution's design and application was praised by judges and conference attendees for its creativity. The video for our entry was especially commended by the judges.
