AI Ethics and Society conference publication
Who do we empower when we interact with robots? Our new work at the AAAI/ACM AI, Ethics and Society conference asks this question.
Happy to have our work on robot ethics out, with collaborators Jiaee Cheong, Rune Nyrup and Hatice Gunes.

Presenting the work at AIES conference.
Our work identifies ethical questions about real-world human-robot interaction, which three different communities found important to address. The questions are not only about the user: they span the individual person, their social group, society and broader culture. Our work discusses how roboticists can use these questions to interrogate the ethical dimensions of their robots during the development process. The questions are:
- Is it safe, and how can we know that?
- Who is the robot built for and with?
- Who owns the robot and the data?
- Why a robot?
