The Task
The assigment for IEEE’s Antenna and Propagation Society conference 2015’s student competition was to build an antenna that works on biological tissue. I was part of the team to figure out how exactly to measure breath, and to create a video of our project.
The Solution
We built used a resistive band to measure the change in circumference of the wearer’s chest.
The Outcome
Our Team Aalto came third in the international competition hosted by IEEE’s Antenna and Propagation Society (AP-S) with our breath monitoring device. The competition had 27 highly competitive entries from 14 countries around the world.The solution’s design and application was praised by judges and conference attendees for its creativity. The video for our entry was especially commended by the judges.
